Wyoming and the 2nd Amendment
The Second Amendment protects our God-given right to defend ourselves and prevent tyranny.
Wyoming can consider itself a gun-friendly state. In October of 2019, Guns & Ammo ranked Wyoming 8th best state for gun owners. With such a good rating, one would assume that Wyoming legislators do their best to keep their state a Second Amendment haven. Yet lawmakers on both sides of the aisle seem to be undermining that high ranking with every passing session.
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
In 2020, conservative legislators introduced Senate File 75 to repeal gun-free zones. It failed, due in part, to no-votes from legislators who market themselves to constituents as pro-Second Amendment. Students and teachers are still defenseless in almost all Wyoming classrooms and many churchgoers cannot defend their congregations. One might ask, why are Wyoming lawmakers actively and passively attacking the Second Amendment and denying us our rights to defend ourselves?
